Dear Hottie,

What does it mean when a man and a woman adopt a small dog together?
I don't mean a medium sized dog or a smallish dog. I mean one of those lap dogs.

My good buddy recently adopted one of these things with his girlfriend.
Should I be concerned? Should I intervene? Or should I shrug my shoulders and write him off?

Normally writing off this particular buddy would be unthinkable... not even a possibility.
But a girlfriend with a small dog... well, that seems pretty terminal.

By the look on the pups face he seems less than enthused by this new arrangement. Kind of makes you wonder who was actually adopted here d'oh!

Does the poor dog's fur actually grow in that way, or did you give it an 80's band color treatment?

They say dogs and their owners tend to look alike.

OK - even I have to admit that Steven's photoshop was kind-o-funny. But is that all you guys got? I lobbed up a big fat beach ball, a holiday gift, an attempt to make amends for my rapier wit - and this is it? Geeze - u guys need muffy more than I do.

Muffy? Oh please, no. Not "Muffy"!

I can see that you're kind of hiding in the shadows there at the Mocha Madness, but Jesus, what do you do when you have to call the dog? Do you actually say "Muffy"?
I suppose you must do so in a breathy falseto voice. Yuck!

Then again, based on the dog's bleached and feathered locks, I would've guessed that it was named after Bonjovi. I don't know which is worse.

Couldn't you just leave the thing at home?

Letmesee: a Muffy dog, new wardrobe, fancy dancing, spotless motorcycle - all of that would put me in the same league as my Cali pard "Beaufort Sweetspot. I dunno if he could stand the competition.

If you look up "dandy" in the dictionary it is his multitalented visage that appears...

Well, I hate to have to clobber you with your own words, Martin, but it's for your own good.

You see, I've read your nice Xmas greeting (http://www.motorcyclejazz.com/xmas_2009.htm).
Not once did you mention Muffy. Every other dog, goat, pig, and who knows what else gets noted, but not one mention of Muffy.

I think that's a good sign. But I must say, you're taking a step or two backward with your stance on this thread.

Please Martin, I understand maybe you're giving a poor, needy dog a home. Good on you.
But for God's sake why must you die its hair, feather it back, and then parade it around the Mocha Madness?

For your own sake, and especially for the dog's: no more!

That is because Muffy is not my dog. I do happen to have a small dog - a Jack Russell Terrier, named Jack. I wouldn't mess with Jack if I were you because he'll pop a cap in your backside.

The reason that I associate with lap dogs is because of my friend Megan. She is pictured below. Any questions?

Yo - Bojangles.

It's better than wearing one.

Then I guess you're going from bad to worse since wearing one is what you'll be doing next.

As a result of this development, my 'tough-guy" impression of Martin is slowly peeling away. So I thought I would look for some "tough" pics of dogs that may be called "muffy"...

Umm..... nope

hehe... nah

SUCCESS!!!
