I've been looking at two small dualsport bikes, and I wonder if you can shed some light on differing designs.
Honda has the
CRF230L, and Yamaha the
XT250. Both bikes have similar weights, ergonomics, prices, and intended functions. It would seem that Honda and Yamaha are going after the same market with these bikes. I wonder why their engines are so different...
The Yamaha has an over-square cylinder, with five gears in the transmission.
Honda opted for a long-stroke cylinder and put six gears in the trans.
Would these bikes feel very different?
What are the pros and cons of each design?
Thanks.
